TRANSLATION SERVICES BUREAU NEA GERMANIKA has signed a contract with the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Bulgaria and is authorized to translate and legalise documents in all institutions.
CERTIFICATION AND LEGALISATION
In order to be valid on the territory of Bulgaria and in the Bulgarian institutions, the documents issued by a foreign country to Bulgarian citizens need to be additionally processed to meet certain standards/criteria depending on whether the country in question is a member under the Hague Convention, whether there is a Legal Assistance Treaty that has entered into force between this country and the Republic of Bulgaria or this country does not belong to any of the before mentioned groups.
APOSTILLE IS REQUIRED
All documents issued by the authorities of the foreign country-member of the Hague Convention are required to have an apostille by the country`s Foreign Affairs Ministry.
TRANSLATION INTO BULGARIAN
The documents with an apostille have to be translated into Bulgarian as follows:
1/ by a consular or a diplomatic officer from the country of origin of the document;
2/ by an authorized by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Bulgaria Translation Agency;
CERTIFICATION OF THE TRANSLATION
The translation of the document is required to be certified by the Legalisation and Certification Sector of the Directorate for Administrative Services to Bulgarian and Foreign Citizens in the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The same procedure applies to Bulgarian documents with the purpose to serve on the territory of a foreign country which is a member of the Hague Convention.
COUNTRIES WITH WHICH BULAGARIA HAS SIGNED BILATERAL LEGAL ASSISTANCE TREATIES
For the countries with which Bulgaria has signed bilateral legal assistance treaties according which the translated documents are released from legalization with an apostille, the documents issued by the foreign country are required to have a stamp from the authorized by the Treaty office.Thus the issued document is recognized by the Bulgarian institutions and needs only to be translated into Bulgarian and have a certification of the translation.
